I was always a rebel but for a long time my inner rebel was supressed; supressed by the conditioning of society and community, by parents, friends, teachers and leaders who thought it was best to do what was expected of them and what they were told.

I always wondered why so few people ever questioned the rules and procedures. I could always see a bigger picture and could see a way of doing things more effectively and efficiently however, with stifling rules and regulations, everyone seemed to do things the same way. I wanted to be different than others and do things differently, especially in the workplace. It was in the workplace I observed so much conformity, discipline and endless policies. The rules seemed to quiet the masses and dim any creativity and imagination. I became so disillusioned by the lack of innovation and autonomy and felt constantly suppressed, unable to actualise my vision because thinking outside the box was not embraced. At times when I spoke out, offered creative solutions, raised my energy and acted autonomously for the greater good, it felt like I should retreat to expected conduct code, and be a good little girl who didn’t cause any trouble.

Frustrated with my inner light being dimmed, I knew the only way I could be truly effective and authentic within the workplace was to stop conforming, stop following the masses but instead, rise up, stand out, be innovative and unleash the rebel within. After years in what felt like corporate suffocation, I made a decision to be fully and authentically me. I started to let my voice be heard when appropriate, to think outside the box, to ask for forgiveness instead of permission, to get things done in progressive ways, to ignore hierarchical structures and navigate the organisation with vigor and passion. I decided that I would do things my own individual way and whilst observing the necessary corporate rules, I creatively found ways around them that allowed me to be more autonomous, rebellious and effective. What I quickly found was I was getting noticed, I was being talked about and I was getting recognition and praise from most of my colleagues and senior business leaders. The more I embraced my unique traits and ways of working, the more I found myself getting promoted, receiving unexpected pay increases and bonuses, recognition from management and asked to input into key business initiatives normally reserved for a select few. Although I never initially became rebellious for career progression it soon became evident embracing my authentic rebel, manifested more job satisfaction, fulfilment, fun, recognition, rewards, and career advancement than I could have ever imagined. It became crystal clear to me doing things differently was the quickest path to getting different results.

Making the changes within my career and unleashing my true authentic self gave me the freedom I had lacked for so many years. By rising up the ranks in my career, within two years, I made the bold decision to no longer be an employee. Instead I became a sought after consultant and went into organisations for a limited time to strategically and radically update and progress their business.

Consulting allowed me the financial rewards and freedom of time to travel the world, pursue my dreams of learning to become a helicopter pilot, transform my body to create a physique that could compete on stage, compete in power-lifting competitions, write for U.K. publications, stand on stage at speaking events and ultimately, create my own freedom based business.

My lifestyle now gives me the level of joy, passion, autonomy and ultimate freedom I once dreamed of. Doing things my way, trusting my gut, following my intuition, daring to be different and not conforming to the norm has rewarded me in every area of my life. My business, relationships, health and well-being have all transformed as a result of embracing my differences and unleashing my rebel within.

My work now allows me to share the secrets I discovered to allow other corporate women to live the life of their dreams too. I feel blessed to be able to share my wisdom, coach others and find solutions to living your best life.
